Keep Subscribers Safe and Remain Competitive
with CMAS Compliance
Our cloud-based Commercial Mobile Service Provider (CMSP) Gateway provides affordable compliance with the FCC's Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) initiative, also known as the Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS). Our solution enables operators to deliver Presidential, Imminent Threat, and AMBER alert messages originating from the Federal Alert Gateway to subscribers without the expense and complexity of an on-network system.
Although compliance with the CMAS is voluntary, it is viewed by most as a critical customer care initiative with potentially dramatic subscriber retention implications for those who opt out. As a growing number of WEA-capable handsets become available—easily recognized by the official WEAC logo on device packaging or at operators' retail outlets—and subscriber awareness grows, CMAS is a service subscribers will come to expect from their network operator.
Interop's CMSP Gateway sits between the Federal Alert Gateway and the operator's network, acting as a conduit for messages originated by federal, state, and local agencies. Our solution can direct alerts through our Cell Broadcast Center (CBC) to an operator's network or can integrate with the operator's own CBC that complies with Alliance for Telecommunication Industry Solutions (ATIS) 0700008.
