FORT MYERS, FL.—Aug. 30, 2007—Interop Technologies, a leading provider of advanced wireless technology solutions, today announced that Corr Wireless, a network operator serving north Alabama and northwest Georgia, is the first wireless company in the nation to deploy the Interop Short Message Center (SMSC) 4.0 turnkey solution.
The robust SMSC 4.0 easily meets the higher volume and availability requirements of today's messaging environments. The turnkey solution, now commercially deployed in the Corr Wireless network, will help the operator meet increasing customer demand for text messaging.
The SMSC 4.0 delivers new levels of scalability and throughput for wireless operators and major brands and provides the 99.999 percent reliability they require. For customers, the SMSC 4.0 supports one- and two-way short text messaging; short codes for contests and promotions; mobile email; Web-based messaging; store-and-forward capability; roaming; and real-time, Web-based customer care. For Corr Wireless, the solution delivers highly efficient and flexible transactional billing; equal service levels for prepaid and postpaid customers; and a Blaster Tool enabling the operator to communicate quickly and easily with all or part of its subscriber base for informational, promotional, and account collection purposes. The solution also is available as a hosted service.
"Our subscriber numbers are rising, and our SMS volume has increased dramatically as text messaging has gained in popularity. At this moment, we provide more than 300,000 subscribers with this service and are now positioned to grow that number even further," said Bryan Corr, President and CEO, Corr Wireless. "We have a long-term working relationship with Interop Technologies. We know we can count on Interop to help us meet the expanding needs of our customers and our growing business."
"We are pleased to work with Corr Wireless once again," said John Dwyer, President and CEO, Interop Technologies. "The innovative, distributed architecture of the SMSC 4.0 and the improved diagnostic tools it provides to Corr will help the company efficiently manage its growth in a way that is transparent to existing and future customers."
