WEST CENTRAL WIRELESS SELECTS
INTEROP TECHNOLOGIES SMS CENTER 4.0

Highly Scalable, Turnkey Solution to Support Text Messaging Growth at Texas Operator

FORT MYERS, FL.—Apr. 1, 2008—West Central Wireless, a network operator headquartered in San Angelo, Texas, has purchased a turnkey SMS Center 4.0 from Interop Technologies, a leading provider of advanced wireless technology solutions for the global wireless, packaged goods, and content industries.

The highly scalable Interop Technologies SMSC 4.0 will enable the operator to increase the number of messaging customers and volume of text messages on its system, as well as offer additional SMS support to operators with whom the company shares its switches. Locally owned and operated, West Central Wireless serves 16 counties in Texas and offers switching services to several additional wireless operators within the United States.

The Interop Technologies SMSC 4.0 easily meets the higher volume and availability requirements of today’s demanding messaging environments. The solution delivers new levels of scalability, throughput, and reliability for wireless operators and major brands. Using intelligent route caching technology, the SMSC 4.0 helps operators reduce the load related to SMS terminations on Home Location Register (HLR) and SS7 networks by up to 50 percent. The SMSC 4.0 also includes a first delivery attempt router that enables operators to leverage existing SMS infrastructure to achieve network and cost efficiencies. The router rapidly delivers the 80 percent to 90 percent of messages that can be delivered on the first attempt and queues only the remaining messages that require multiple delivery attempts, typically because user devices are turned off or out of range.

West Central Wireless currently offers unlimited outgoing and free unlimited incoming text messages in its messaging rate plan. The SMSC 4.0 will enable the operator to add capacity on the fly with only minimal capital investment.

"With the turnkey SMSC 4.0 from Interop Technologies in place, we can easily handle the increases in SMS traffic that we expect going forward," said Mike Higgins, General Manager of West Central Wireless. "At the same time, the SMSC 4.0 provides valuable management tools, including Web-based customer care and reporting, to help us deliver personalized service to users of popular text messaging services."

"With the fully redundant Interop SMSC 4.0, West Central Wireless can provide continuous messaging service to all its customers, regardless of demand spikes," said John Dwyer, Co-founder, President, and CEO of Interop Technologies. "We look forward to working with the company and watching its business grow."

The complete line of Interop Technologies solutions for messaging, device management, and entertainment and personalization will be on display in booth number 5917, Hall N3/N2, at the CTIA Wireless 2008 tradeshow in Las Vegas, April 1-3.
