FORT MYERS, FL.—Aug. 4, 2009—In response to growing demand for its technology solutions, Interop Technologies, the premier provider of core wireless solutions for messaging, device management, and gateway connectivity, announced that it is opening a state-of-the-art Operations Center in metro Dallas.
Located in the Las Colinas business district in Irving, Texas, the 23,000 square-foot facility will offer full redundancy, high availability, and high levels of security to Interop's customers—more than 55 telecommunications operators in the Americas. The center will be staffed 24/7/365 and Interop is recruiting trained, experienced telecom and data processing professionals for open positions.
Interop is growing and expanding into new markets at a time when many telecom companies are experiencing financial difficulty. The company is investing about $3 million to buy the Las Colinas building and make capital improvements. Purchased through an affiliate company, the facility currently is undergoing redesign and remodeling. About 40 percent of the space will be dedicated to raised floor development, quality assurance, and systems processing.
When construction is complete in early 2010, the center will support 70-80 employees engaged in product development, project management, technical operations, technical support, and sales. Five positions already have been filled. Interop expects to hire a number of additional employees in Dallas by end of year and 20-30 more throughout 2010. Interop plans to transition primary responsibility for supporting its hosted and turnkey customers from the company's current operations center in Fort Myers to the new facility.
"The availability of people with quality telecom and data expertise was a key factor in selecting the Dallas area for the next phase of company expansion," said John Dwyer, President and CEO, Interop Technologies. "We look forward to growing our business and becoming a partner in economic and technology development in the greater Dallas community."
Interop technology solutions power SMS, MMS, SS7-based OTA, device management, mobile Internet access, and short code services delivered to millions of wireless customers every day. These next-generation solutions are future proof, designed to fit operators' technology roadmaps as they evolve.
Today's announcement closely follows additional expansion news from Interop, which is moving rapidly to increase revenue and market share in the highly competitive wireless industry. On July 15, Interop announced that it plans to commit $30 million over the next three years to enter the Caribbean and Latin America markets.
Complete technology solutions from Interop include hardware, software, billing and backend integration, and technical support. These highly scalable and reliable solutions are compelling to wireless operators, in part because Interop is the only provider to offer four flexible deployments that help telecom service providers adapt to changing economic conditions:
