Department: Technical Realization‐Engineering and Network Operations
Reports to: Director, Infrastructure
FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt
Primary Responsibilities
As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, employee in this position will be required to work closely with the customer service, implementation, network operations, quality assurance, and software development teams to efficiently document, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with commercially deployed wireless systems. The position requires a responsible, team oriented, well-organized individual with strong technical and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent issues while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.
Providing technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve network design, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and security
Provide recommendations for process improvement, documentation for maintaining and supporting highly available network architecture for hosted datacenter, cloud and carrier-grade on premises platforms
Responsible for network lifecycle processes including provisioning, patching, and maintenance of network elements across the datacenter and private cloud customer environments
Assisting with customer cloud implementations and configurations
Assisting carriers with problem solving multi‐party issues in a consultative manner
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing general assistance with:
Implementation of processes and procedures
Creation and maintenance of implementation and operations documentation
Cloud based, central site and remote installation and/or maintenance activities
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
5+ years of experience in a network administrative role
Proficient in network protocols (to include but not limited to): OSPF BGP RSTP STP IPSEC HSRP VRRP VRF VXLAN EVPN DNS LLDP ARP
Experience working with network operating systems, such as Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper JUNOS, Fortinet FortiOS, Palo Alto PAN-OS
Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc)
Understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud architectures
Understanding of SDN design and implementation principles
Knowledge of network security architecture and support in public cloud and on-prem datacenter environments
Education and Related Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience supporting a multiple site network environment
Experience around AWS, GCP, Azure, VMware, and OpenStack technologies
Proficient working with Linux/UNIX, specifically RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu
Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Other Requirements
May require working in excess of 40 hours / week
Physical requirements:
Ability to sit at a desk for one or more hours at a time
Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
