The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer 

  • Position (Location): Within the Republic of Ireland and the following US states: FL, TX, CO, NC
  • Department:Technical Realization-Development
  • Reports to: Director, Software Development and Quality Assurance
  • FLSA Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation, extension, and application of testing infrastructure and procedures necessary to assure the highest quality experience for Interop’s end-users
  • Work closely with software development teams to identify and correct deviations from the product software specification using both third-party and in-house testing tools
  • Participate in the entire Agile development process

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge and adherence to Quality Assurance best practices and procedures
  • Experience designing and executing automated tests
  • Working knowledge of a Linux operating system
  • Working knowledge of Perl
  • The ability to create and analyze traffic captures between services for correctness
  • Experience with SQL, MySQL, or MariaDB
  • Ability to interpret and create test cases based on third-party technical specifications
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and executing test plans
  • Familiarity with at least one communication protocol such as SMPP, SCTP, HTTP, HTTP/2, and DIAMETER
  • Strong desire to learn new technology

Education and Related Experience

  • A BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance or related role
  • Experience working in the wireless/telecom industry is a plus
  • Experience working with SS7, SIP, or 5G is a plus

Other Requirements

  • Occasionally may require being on-call
  • Occasionally may require working in excess of 40 hours / week to meet a deadline
  • Physical requirements:
    • Ability to sit at a desk for one or more hours at a time
    • Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
  • Verification of employment authorization status in the U.S. will be required upon employment
