Interop Technologies Enables 4G Messaging  for 30 Wireless Network Operators

"All-Generation" IP Messaging Capability Provides Seamless Messaging Continuity Across Multiple Protocols and Leverages Legacy Platforms

FORT MYERS, FL.—Oct. 7, 2009—Interop Technologies, the premier provider of core wireless solutions for messaging, device management, and gateway connectivity, today announced that it has enabled 4G messaging for 30 network operators that are customers of the company's hosted solutions.

These operators can now launch exciting new 4G messaging services for Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled devices to gain competitive advantage, capture new revenue, and increase ARPU.

Interop's 4G implementation fully supports the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)/Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) framework for messaging while maintaining seamless interoperability with legacy handsets and networks. Support for additional IP protocols will be added in the coming months.

Interop's technology architecture is highly modular, scalable, and extensible. The use of gateway layer protocol converters easily accommodates the addition of new protocols without changes to the messaging core or services layers. Interop's 4G functionality enhancement did not require any changes in configuration or billing, nor was any carrier intervention needed.

To benefit its hosted customers, Interop can also support and soon will deploy Voice over LTE via Generic Access (VoLGA), Instant Messaging (IM), and Rich Communications Suite (RCS) implementations. Support for both the initial IMS/SIP implementation and the additional 4G protocols is covered under the company's existing commercial terms with operator customers.
