After an exhausting and exciting week at Mobile World Congress (MWC), the stage has been set for high profile RCS rollouts this year. The news has surfaced that the big four US operators have declared 2015 to be the year that they roll out RCS.
This has us in the RCS camp optimistic that our efforts have primed the market for all operators to follow suit in response to this increased pressure.
As a GSMA accredited hosted RCS vendor, Interop can enable operators to capitalize on the excitement and momentum quicker. Our RCS solution is offered as part of the Interop Technologies CorePlusXSM IP Services suite that allows for deployment of VoWiFi, IMS Core, Policy, VoLTE-Roaming, VoLTE, and of course RCS, when it makes market sense for the individual operator. We've heard from the big four this week, so you can expect the rest of the year to be a noisy one filled with RCS announcements.
I will draw another RCS parallel from my time spent in Barcelona; the fact that the globe's largest mobile conference was used as the backdrop for these announcements goes to show that global ubiquity via interconnectivity and interoperability will be the key to the ultimate success of RCS...more on that in my next blog.
