This week’s CCA Mobile Carriers Show comes on the heels of the FirstNet contract, end of the FCC 600 MHz incentive auction.

The Competitive Carriers Association is set to host its second annual Mobile Carriers Show in Las Vegas, building on the rebranding of its spring event that began last year in Nashville, Tennessee.

The show, which is set to run from April 4-7 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, looks set to again balance the regulatory, operational and competitive issues on the minds of CCA members with the growing mobile telecommunications ecosystem surrounding new technologies and business opportunities.

Keynotes are set to be headlined by executives from Ericsson and Cisco Systems, which are likely to target the new operational and business opportunities available to CCA members from updating current network technologies as well as tapping into new platforms based on “5G” and the internet of things.

A panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities in bringing wireless broadband (both fixed and mobile) to rural areas is set to be hosted by Iain Gillott from iGR, and include representatives from Sprint, Nokia, Huawei and Interop Technologies. Topics are set to include the potential use of millimeter wave spectrum bands, and how CCA members can tap into growing consumer demand for entertainment and video services.
